The Helensville District Health Trust held a mihi whakatau or welcome for its new Event Manager, Amy Wood, who takes up the newly created role in the middle of August 2017.
Amy says she's looking forward to getting more involved in the community where she's lived for the last three years, since moving here with her husband, Daniel Wood, who grew up in Helensville.
Before taking on the Event Manager role Amy was doing marketing and HR for Albany based BEP, a marine engineering and manufacturing firm.
Her new role will see her overseeing the South Kaipara Harvest & Artisan Market as well as attracting new business and events to the Helensville District Health Trust's owned community centre at Te Whare Oranga o Parakai.
Health Trust General Manager, Sue Miller, says "having Amy join the team creates a wonderful opportunity for the Trust to explore how we can support the South Kaipara community with new ventures, by hosting events where businesses, or individuals can trial their products at very little cost." She says the Trust has been swamped with ideas from the community and now that Amy is on board those ideas will be able to be followed through.
Keep an eye out for new events between now and Christmas and if you want to talk to Amy about any ideas you have she can be contacted on 021 142 3029 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Adrian Noda, Whiti Ora o Kaipara, leads the mihi whakatau.
